Capital One Adds Two Hotel Transfer Partners

As a move to welcome expansion, Capital One announced on Feb. 3, 2020 that it has partnered with two hotel transfer companies for the Spark and Venture miles products.

Starting Feb. 4, eligible credit card holders can benefit from the two rewards program, Accor Live Limitless and Wyndham Rewards, for valuable hotel transfers. The bank sets the tone for being the first major bank to partner with Accor and Wyndham.

Accor in itself is a large loyalty program, which has 34 popular hotel brands including Sofitel, Mondrian, Raffles, and SLS. Wyndham also has a huge portfolio of hotels including La Quinta, Tryp by Wyndham, Wyndham Grand, and more.

Eligible credit cards can redeem points for a hotel stay in the two largest hotel brands in the world. For Accor, cardholders need at least 2,000 points to redeem a hotel stay. Meanwhile, 7,500 reward points are needed to redeem a one-night stay at Wyndham-affiliated hotels.

In previous years, Capital One only partners with airlines for miles points. However, the bank looked into customerstravel needs and considered expanding its suite of rewards for enhanced credit card experience.

For the Spark and Venture cards, cardholders can transfer miles to up to 17 travel loyalty partners. Miles are transferred at 2 Venture or Spark miles to 1.5 airline miles or hotel points. Some airline partners include Air Canada, Air France, Cathay Pacific, Etihad Airways, JetBlue, Qatar Airways, Finnair, EVA Air, and more.

The new ratio for the JetBlue transfer is 2 to 1.5 miles, meaning, 1,000 Venture miles can get cardholders 750 JetBlue TrueBlue points. According to the bank, this new transfer ration is a 50 percent increase in the number of points one can get for using the credit card.

Capital One specializes in credit cards, savings accounts, and auto loans.
